An exploratory study of the challenges faced by older lesbians
and gay men in Singapore
A team of students from the diploma of Gerontological Management Studies,
Temasek Polytechnic, is currently conducting a study which aims to understand more about the challenges faced by lesbians and gay men aged 50
years old and above in Singapore, the effects of these challenges on their
social and emotional well-being and coping strategies used to manage these
As research in this area is scant in Singapore, the research team hopes to
contribute valuable knowledge through this study.
participant will be required to participate in a face-to-face interview
conducted by 2 interviewers, lasting about an hour. Participants’ names will be
replaced with pseudonyms to protect their anonymity.
